Sofia, April 9 2016
On April 9, 2016 the stage of the Independent Theatre was the place where the 10th edition of ForumKEY happened. The eight event lectors explained with a lot of vigor and passion how a person can make good ideas come to life against all odds - public limitations, prejudice and lack of governmental support. Each presentation was memorable in its own way, and what happened during the breaks was no less interesting. A person can be successful and happy and do good despite any obstacle.
In the last few years the forum gained popularity among a wide circle of people within and without the NGO sector and is known as the Bulgarian equivalent of the TED conferences. The organizers of “Key”, though, point out the difference that their presentations are based entirely on examples from Bulgaria.
This year among the KEYholders was the Executive Director of BFPA. Contrary to all expectations Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova and her memorable hat demonstrated, told and proved how we should open our eyes wide and look beyond the obvious, because that’s where the key is buried. She talked about the BFPA, on the power of education, about the good examples from working with the Roma society and other vulnerable groups, about leading by example and foremost – about the Essential, which is invisible to the eye, but sometimes you yourself have to become visible, in order to be heard and understood….
The forum topics included the fields of education, justice, health, sports, how young people can achieve self-accomplishment, and animal care – all hot topics at the moment in Bulgaria. The moto of this edition is “Despite!”, because the stage is taken by people who are successful in those fields despite the chronic systemic flaws of the situation in Bulgaria.
For a tenth time in a row we succeeded to convert a great idea into reality!
