Six Small Projects in the Frame of LAP Supported

The second competition for small projects for organizations of Learning Action Partnership (LAP) took place in June and July 2020. In the defined for collecting proposals deadline five proposals were presented, among which with the help of a special selected committee, as well of organizations members of LAP, for supporting were approved three:
ReAct logoProject ‘ACT>Re-Act>ImpACT! – innovative approach for advocacy of HGO concerning sexual exploitation of children’ of Re-Act Association has the ambition to develop innovative business oriented approach for effective advocacy of NGO with the help of professionals in marketing sphere.
Logo RoditeliProject ‘Can You See Me? – the hidden vulnerability of children from sexual exploitation and violence’ of ‘Parents’ Association will contribute for improving and effective applying of ‘Mechanism for reaction against harassment and violence in the institutions in the system of preschool and school education’ as exploring the gaps concerning prevention and its effective applying in cases of risk and/or cases of sexual exploitation and violence against children, including online.
SAPI logoProject ‘Individual Protection – advocating for changes in the legislation for individual assessment of children victims of sexual exploitation’ of Social Activities and Practices Institute (SAPI) is aiming to improve the policy and the law on individual assessment of children, victims of crimes, incl. sexual exploitation within the meaning of a directive 29/2012/ЕС.

The second edition of the competition for small projects for the members of LAP took place in seeking proposals for the priority area on advocacy and improving policies and legislation frame for better protection. The implementation of the projects is starting during October 2020.
The first part of the initiative ‘small projects’ was implemented earlier this year, it is supporting proposals of other colleagues of the Partnership. They started their realization in the period May – September and are in priority area ‘Changing social attitudes and ‘zero’ tolerance towards the cases of sexual exploitation of children’:
Pulse logoProject ‘Hope for future without violence’ of PULSE Foundation and TULIP Foundation is an initiative aiming to reach communities in small locations and marginalized groups in six locations in Bulgaria.
PIK logoProject ‘Young people leading the change’ of Applied Research and Communications Foundation is to identify the gaps concerning knowledge about the risks from sexual exploitation of children online and their skills needed to protect and react when problem online.
Know how centre logoProject ‘And is that so… ?’ (stories for the power and violence) of Know-How Center for Alternative care of Children of NBU is aiming to give voice and words of children experienced violence and sexual exploitation, as well to empower professionals with knowledge and skills to work with such children.

The so called ‘small’ projects are implemented as part of the initiative of Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association (BFPA) ‘The Ability to Change’, supported by OAK Foundation, the main activities of which are to support, prevent and protect children from violence and sexual exploitation.

Presentation of the results of a regional study and recommendations for SRH services in the European Parliament - project "Youth Voices, Youth Choices"

In the last months of 2022 the partners of the YVYC project, together with experts and young people, developed recommendations for regional policy recommendations for improvement of health and social systems and SRHR services for young people after the Covid 19 pandemic.
The recommendations are targeting decision-makers at international and national institutions.  They were presented in the European Parliament on October 26, 2022 by young advocates and experts, with the support of MEP Fred Matic. Three BFPA representatives - Victoria Nikolova, Venelin Stoychev and Pavlina Filipova participated in the EP meeting.

 
Training within the framework of the youth-led campaign in the city of Dupnitsa - "Check in advance, don't trust!" The truth stories from the Roma neighborhood"

Dupnitsa, October 15-16, 2022

On October 15th  and 16th 2022 a training "Check in advance, don't trust!" was held on topics how to identify fake news. Participants, including Roma youth (14 and 18 years old),  enriched their knowledge about media and the impact of false information on health services. The training included also photovoice method and  interesting photography techniques. Young people will practice those skills in the upcoming campaign activities.

 
Youth-led campaign "Health Alarm Clock" in Breznik

Breznik, October 11, 2022

On October 11, 2022, the first of a series of health education information meetings was held with 35 students from 11th and 12th grades of "Vasil Levski" school in Breznik. The event is part of the campaign "Health Alarm Clock" under the "YOUTH VOICES, YOUTH CHOICES" project of BFPA, financed by the” MSD for Mothers” program and organized by the Regional Youth Raise Center with the partnership of the Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association (BFPA), Breznik Municipality and the Local Commission for Combating Anti-Social Behavior of Minors.
