Sofia, November 10-11 2015
On Nov 10 and 11 in Sofia took place the 9th National meeting on the “Initiative for health and vaccinations” project. It is implemented by the National Network of Health Mediators with the support of government institutions, patients’ organizations and NGOs. As representatives of a partner NGO, in the event participated Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova, Executive Director, and Ventzislav Kirkov, Programme Manager of BFPA.
Health mediation has had a sustainable growth during the years – from 105 health mediators in 2010, their number has reached 170 in 2015. Next year 25 new mediators will be joining them, and will begin working after receiving a certificate for successfully passing a course at the Sofia Medical University.
During the meeting a General Assembly took place, at which the Network’s project work was presented, a part of which are forthcoming. Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova and Ventzislav Kirkov presented and moderated a discussion about the “Mission possible” project, financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and MoH, which will be implemented in 14 populated areas until Feb 2017 by BFPA in partnership with the NNHM. The project activities under the project were discussed with health mediators from the project areas and municipalities where the activities will be implemented. We are hoping for a successful cooperation with the NNHM as usual.
