On July 13th and 14th in Bankya, BFPA organized the annual national meeting of its young volunteers. Over 40 high-school and university students from Pleven, Stara Zagora, Russe, Plovdiv and Sofia discussed and planned the organization's main activities for the 2013-2014 academic year. The activities will go on into the following main directions:
- promoting of BFPA activities via the social networks
- creating of video materials, targeting the youth auditorium, that will be disseminated via the social networks and also by promotional and other special events
- peer education and work with vulnerable groups
- seeking for support on municipal level
- attracting, recruiting and sustaining of new youth volunteers in the field of sexual and reproductive health and peer education
Divided into three groups, the volunteers discussed the main strategies and shared the ideas and conclusions they reached. Logically expectations were that the responsibility for logistical support should fall upon the representatives of BFPA's central office and the regional coordinators. Those among the young volunteers, who were newcomers in the field of SRH and peer education, received important guidelines and information from those who already have experience as representatives at trainings and workshops and with SRHR projects. The young people who have taken part in different international youth conferences and other initiatives gave feedback from the important international events. The discussion of ideas and concepts continues at branch level.
